It's a big deal
Growing up my mom use to always tell me to eat my breakfast and that it was the most important meal of the day, and now that I have kids I find myself uttering those exact same words.
Have you ever wondered why though? Why is this meal so important? Is it really such a big deal? Well to answer that question frankly, YES it's a big deal!
Studies have shown that eating breakfast can have huge benefits such as boosting your heart health, decreasing your risk for heart disease and improving cognitive function as well as boosting energy levels. With that being said you want to start off your day with something nutritious but also something filling.
Get good calories in and not useless or empty calories that might just leave you feeling hungry in less than an hour again. So again, yes, it's a big deal, it would be easier just to pass a drive through and grab a quick bite but remember we want good calories to fuel us for the day.
My quick and easy go to breakfast is muesli and yoghurt with some strawberries and blueberries. Why you may ask? I opt for this nutritious breakfast for the following reasons:
- It's healthier than opting for cereal (less sugar)
- I stay fuller for longer
- It is made up of good nutrients
So what does my breakfast look like?
